Overview:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing specialized care to patients during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in labor, including physical and emotional status, fetal well-being, and progression of labor.

3. Monitor vital signs, uterine contractions, and fetal heart rate patterns to identify any abnormalities or potential complications.
4. Provide guidance, support, and education to expectant mothers and their families throughout the labor and delivery process.
5. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical conditions.
6. Assist physicians and midwives during childbirth procedures, including vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and other obstetric interventions.
7. Ensure the proper handling and care of newborns immediately after delivery, including performing newborn assessments, initiating breastfeeding, and providing postnatal care.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree from an accredited nursing program.
2. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [state/province].
